The Charity Student Investment Project students decided to use some of their investment proceeds to support entrepreneurship around the world via micro-loans. These students are investing in their futures through financial education and they wanted to do the same for less fortunate individuals. Our lender profile can be viewed here - http://www.kiva.org/lender/studentinvestmentproject.
When the CSIP decides to support a loan we will post a link to the entrepreneur's profile below.
The Charity Student Investment Project’s mission is to improve student financial education, provide real-money investment experiences and build a community of ambitious philanthropic students interested in investing in the stock markets.
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMMUNITY
Students meet weekly to discuss the management of the “real-money student-managed investment portfolio”, personal finance issues, fundraising opportunities, and careers in the world of finance. Students, mentors and educators also continue these discussions throughout the week via the clubs online forum. The student members of the CSIP make every investment decision by a majority-rule vote (during weekly meetings or online vote). Fifty percent of the proceeds from the CSIP investments are donated to other not-for-profit organizations dedicated to improving student education. Students involved in the CSIP build relationships with other ambitious students, educators and professional that will shape their futures and possibly “open doors” academically and professionally.

The Charity Student Investment Project wants to thank DonorsChoose.Org and all of our supporters that have funded the following projects. DonorsChoose.org matches hard working public school classroom teachers with philanthropists that are interested in supporting projects they believe in. Individuals and organizations can donate as little or as much as they want towards a classroom project. Donors will receive photos of your project taking place, a thank-you letter from the teacher, and a cost report showing how each dollar was spent. If you give over $100, you'll also receive hand-written thank-you letters from the students.
